Product Overview

The VERIFY® All-In-One STEAM Reusable Test Pack, when used as a biological indicator (BI) or chemical indicator (CI) test pack, is used to challenge standard 270°F 4-minute or 270°F 10-minute extended steam sterilization cycles.

Streamline inventory and free up space by eliminating 100 lbs of paper waste compared to traditional paper test packs.

The test pack can be reused up to 200 times for multiple quality assurance tests, including:

  • Daily Air Removal (Bowie Dick) tests
  • Routine microbial monitoring
  • Chemical indicator tests

How Does the VERIFY All-In-One Reusable Test Pack Work?

The VERIFY All-In-One STEAM Reusable Test Pack is a process challenge device (PCD) validated for use with a series of monitoring products. To use the test pack, Sterile Processing Department technicians add a biological Indicator (BI) and/or chemical indicator (CI), close the cap, then place the pack in an autoclave. The test pack combines the challenge of disposable paper packs with a unique dead-end lumen pathway to effectively test steam sterilizers.

Since each reusable test pack can be used up to 200 times, there are three methods of tracking to choose from:

Standard Pack (LCB035)

Manually track uses with VERDOC Record Forms or your tracking system.

Step Counter (LCB036)

Step Counter

Advance the step counter by turning the arm clockwise until it clicks into place.

Tracker Chip Pack (LCB037)

Tracker Chip Pack

Scan the test pack before each use to display the number of remaining uses.

What Do I Need to Build the Reusable Test Pack?

Air Removal Test
(Bowie-Dick Test)

To perform daily air removal testing, or Bowie Dick testing, technicians will need to place a
VERIFY™ Bowie Dick Indicator Strip directly in the test pack.

Monitoring
Standard 270°F (132°C)
4-minute cycles

Technicians should place a validated** BI and CI in the test pack. STERIS offers the following products validated for the test pack. 

Chemical Indicator:
VERIFY™ STEAM Integrating Indicator

Biological Indicator:
Celerity 20 STEAM BI

If choosing to not use a BI, technicians can place a VERIFY STEAM Integrating Indicator Strip or the VERIFY® SixCess® MF4 STEAM Emulating Indicator 
strip directly in the test pack.

Monitoring
Extended 270°F (132°C)
10-minute cycles

 

For monitoring of extended cycles, technicians will place the Celerity™ Xtend 10 Assembly, which comes pre-assembled with the Celerity 20 STEAM BI and a chemical indicator, directly in the test pack.
