The Featherweight Leg Section is an ultra-lightweight, carbon fiber leg positioner engineered to facilitate improved removal and attachment on the STERIS surgical tables.

How the Featherweight Leg Section Works
Weighing only 14 lbs., the Featherweight Leg Section promotes responsible ergonomics and staff safety in handling with less strain, unlike standard table leg sections, which weigh 28 lbs. and are more difficult to handle due to their weight.

Why the Featherweight Leg Section?
The lightweight of the Featherweight Leg Section exceeds AORN weight guidelines (22 lbs. or less) for repeated lifting in the OR. STERIS surgical tables can be ordered with this innovative leg section. It can also be ordered separately as a replacement or for backward compatibility with earlier STERIS sliding tabletop models.

Featherweight Leg Section Pad Attachment
The Featherweight Leg Section has two options for pad attachment. These options are interchangeable. Users can transition from traditional hook-and-loop fasteners (VELCRO^® brand* fastener) to STERIS's Mushroom Cap fasteners (containing no VELCRO^® brand fastener) and vice versa.   

Table Compatibility:
Compatible with STERIS 5095, 4095, 4085, 5085, 5085 Harmony, 5085 SRT, and CMAX general surgical tables.

• BF107 – Digital X-Ray Top for Standard and Featherweight Leg Section. This X-Ray Top accessory is designed for use with modern Digital Flash Pads and has a perineal cut out at the inside edge. These apply to surgical tables manufactured since November 30, 2015.
• BF744 – Traditional (old-style) X-Ray Top for Standard and Featherweight Leg Section. This X-Ray Top accessory is designed for use with traditional x-ray film cassettes (not Digital Flash Pads) and has a perineal cut out at the inside edge. These apply to surgical tables manufactured before November 30, 2015.

For STERIS 5085 Harmony, 4095 & 5095 models (STERIS Surgical Tables with Mushroom Cap attachment):

• BF197 – Digital X-Ray Top for Standard and Featherweight Leg Section. This X-Ray Top accessory is designed with an integrated x-ray cassette channel and has a perineal cut out at the inside edge.
