Product Overview

The STERIS Smoke Evacuation System is designed to protect your surgical staff and patients from the dangers of surgical smoke in the operating room (OR). The STERIS smoke evacuator has improved technology and delivers a highly effective method of collecting and filtering smoke produced during either open or laparoscopic procedures.

How the Steris Smoke Evacuation System Works

The surgical smoke evacuation system offers a patented electrocautery pencil with an integrated surgical smoke evacuation mechanism that captures surgical plume right at the source to improve patient and staff safety. A high-speed, brushless motor helps create suction pressure up to five times greater than other evacuators, quietly pulling smoke particles expelled from the surgical site and capturing them before they can escape. The STERIS Smoke Evacuation System works with all surgical cutting devices found in operating rooms, including harmonic scalpel, and monopolar, or bipolar electrosurgery. The unit works with a remote activator.

Hydrophobic ULPA and Charcoal Output Filters

• Delivers >99.9999% efficiency on particles sized as little as 0.03 micron and above
• Built-in fluid trap ensures plumes, bio-aerosols, blood, and fluids won’t pass through filter
• Charcoal filter made exclusively with granulated coconut charcoal, most effective for removing volatile organic compounds

STERIS ESU Pencils with Integrated Smoke Evacuation

Telescoping and non-telescoping evacuator pencils allow the STERIS smoke evacuation system to collect and filter smoke right at the incision site, and also work with other surgical smoke evacuation systems.

• 12 ESU Pencil configurations available in telescoping, non-telescopic, stainless steel, and non-stick
• Telescoping options enable the surgeon to vary length of electrode and be positioned at any point between 1.5 inches to 6.5 inches
• Surgical smoke shroud clips on to an ordinary electrocautery pencil to capture smoke immediately at the source
