The VIKON™ QuickRelease Kerrison Rongeur, also known as bone punches, offers surgeons precise visibility and balance for minimally invasive surgical procedures. The Rongeur is designed to remove small portions of bone and soft tissue, most commonly in cervical and lumbar spinal procedures and neuropediatrics. The proprietary V-coat finishing process strengthens the steel, extending the life of the Rongeur and cutting edge while providing surgeons with smooth cutting action. The VIKON™ QuickRelease Kerrison Rongeurs come in various sizes to support the toughest foreign body removal.
How the VIKON™ QuickRelease Kerrisons Work
The VIKON™ QuickRelease Kerrison Rongeur is a surgical instrument designed for cervical and lumbar spinal procedures and neuropediatric surgeries by utilizing a scoop-shaped cutting tool (also known as a footplate) to remove bone and soft tissue during procedures.
The durable take-apart design enables the Rongeur to be cleaned thoroughly, eliminating bioburden buildup without sacrificing functionality. The ejector bar and grooveless rails help prevent bone and soft tissue from sticking to the cutting edge, allowing for consistent cutting edge and sizing. With the ability to customize the length and bite size, Kerrison Rongeurs offer surgeons precise visibility and balance for minimally invasive surgical procedures.
