Pediatric Equipment for Surgery

Pediatric surgery includes a variety of procedures performed for the care and treatment of infants, children, and adolescents. The most common surgeries performed on pediatric patients are for treating ear pain, urinary tract infections, skin infections, childhood leukemia and appendicitis. Surgical treatment for these illnesses includes appendectomies, ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeries and urology/gynecology surgeries. Similar to adults, pediatric patients are placed in a variety of positions during surgeries. The use of surgical table accessories during pediatric procedures depends on the age and weight of the child and the area of the body being treated. Therefore, a wide variety of pediatric equipment and surgical table accessories are required to ensure the safety and comfort of the child.
