Product Overview

Specifically designed to support band endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), the SmartBand endoscopic mucosal resection kit is indicated for EMR in the upper GI tract.

How the SmartBand EMR Kit Works

The SmartBand EMR Kit consists of a ligation handle with universal connector, loading device, flush tube, Pentax adaptor, barrel with five latex free bands, and the SmartSnare EMR Hexagonal Snare. When setting up the endoscopic EMR device, the deployment cord is first passed through the working channel of the endoscope using the PermaCoil loading device and then assembled to the ligation handle. The slack is taken out of the deployment cord and the barrel is fitted onto the end of the endoscope. The flush tube may be connected to the handle to allow for flushing of the working channel during the procedure. Once completed, the SmartBand EMR Kit is ready for use in procedures. The SmartSnare hexagonal snare can then be inserted into the working channel of the endoscope to resect target tissue.

The SmartBand EMR Kit multi-band ligation pack is also available if additional bands are needed during an upper GI EMR procedure. Although the SmartBand EMR endoscopy kit is a single-use system, the SmartBand EMR Kit multi-band ligation pack may be used in place of an additional kit when more ligator bands are needed to complete the procedure. After the single-use band ligator has already been set up on the endoscope, the empty barrel and deployment thread is taken off of the endoscope. Then, to set up the upper GI endoscopic mucosal resection ligation pack, the deployment cord is passed through the working channel of the endoscope using the PermaCoil loading device and then assembled to the SmartBand ligation handle. Once complete, the SmartBand EMR kit and SmartSnare hexagonal snare are ready for further resections.
