Product Overview
Foreign body cases can be very challenging and are often emergencies that happen during on-call hours. Industry guidelines recommend stocking an overtube for management of ingested foreign bodies or food impactions. The Guardus Overtube – Esophageal features an exclusive tapered tip design to help protect the esophagus from mucosal damage, while its unique insufflation cap helps maintain insufflation and guards against leakage of body fluids.
How the Guardus Overtube – Esophageal works
The Guardus Overtube design incorporates a two-tube endoscopy overtube system. The disposable esophageal overtube and introducer tube are used in conjunction with a flexible endoscope for overtube assisted foreign body removal or tissue retrieval, and/or endoscopic procedures requiring multiple endoscope intubations. If multiple scope insertions are necessary, the patient will not need to swallow the scope each time it is passed through the esophagus, minimizing the risk of mucosal damage, patient discomfort and procedure time.
