How the Articulator Injection Needle Works and Affects Patient Flow and Outcomes

The Articulator injection needle for gastrointestinal endoscopy is intended to be used for the injection of various types of media through flexible endoscopes. Example applications for these stainless-steel injection needles may be submucosal lifting prior to endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), injection therapy for GI bleeds, sclerotherapy for the treatment of varices, or endoscopic tattooing for the marking of lesions.

GI Departments may face costly endoscope repairs after an extended sclerotherapy needle has been inadvertently pulled through the accessory channel of the endoscope. The Articulator needle is a luer lock injection needle featuring a spring-loaded handle that automatically retracts the needle, potentially reducing the risk of inadvertent scope damage caused by an extended needle.

The Articulator injection needle has a stainless-steel spring sheath, which helps make it a kink resistant injection needle. Because of these kink resistant properties, the Articulator injection needle fully deploys where there is significant looping and tortuous conditions (e.g. the colon).
