Endoscope bedside cleaning is a vital first step in endoscope reprocessing. The VIA enzymatic sponge and dry sponge provide a convenient way for Customers to follow infection control guidelines when cleaning an endoscope or other instruments after use.

How the VIA Sponge Works

Typically, a detergent solution and endoscope cleaning sponge or lint-free cloth are used to wipe down the outside of an endoscope’s insertion tube to remove residual bioburden. The intent of bedside cleaning is to immediately moisten the endoscope and remove debris remaining from the procedure before it has an opportunity to dry on the endoscope. The VIA enzymatic sponge and dry sponge are intended to be used for cleaning instruments after a procedure.
