Certified Pre-Owned Equipment Warranty

STERIS Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) equipment meets the standards of STERIS’s Certified Pre-Owned Refurbishing Program. Unless otherwise agreed in writing by STERIS, CPO refurbished surgical tables and surgical table accessories are covered by a two (2) year parts and labor warranty, and STERIS CPO refurbished AMSCO Reliance Synergy Washers/Disinfectors are covered by a six (6) month parts and labor warranty.

STERIS warrants CPO refurbished equipment to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and operation during the warranty period set forth above from the date of STERIS’s invoice; provided, however, that hand controls and other electrical components are limited to one-time replacement during the warranty period. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from unauthorized installation, accident, casualty, alteration, misuse, or failure to follow STERIS’s written instructions. No other express warranty is made with respect to CPO equipment. ENTIRE WARRANTY: STERIS MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND STERIS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED. STERIS WILL HAVE NO OTHER LIABILITY, DIRECT OR INDIRECT, OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

STERIS reserves the right to inspect CPO equipment prior to approving Customer’s warranty claim. STERIS will endeavor to complete warranty repairs and/or service at Customer’s facility. However, should STERIS determine in its sole discretion that CPO equipment must be returned to STERIS for evaluation and/or repairs, Customer shall be responsible for the cost of transporting the equipment to and from STERIS, and must obtain from STERIS in advance a valid Return Goods Authorization (“RGA”) number.

Customer agrees that its sole and exclusive remedy for breach of the foregoing warranty will be the repair or replacement and reinstallation of defective parts (with the exception of items normally considered to be expendable such as filters, fuses, gaskets, lamps, printer paper, printer ribbons, ink, lubricants, charts, etc.), or, at STERIS’s option, to refund the purchase price; provided that (1) the CPO equipment has not been altered or modified by other than STERIS, (2) the CPO equipment has been properly stored, installed, maintained and operated within the limits specified by STERIS, and (3) Customer promptly sends to STERIS notice of defect and satisfactory proof thereof, including allowing STERIS the opportunity to inspect the CPO equipment, and in the event of repair or replacement, returns the equipment to STERIS, freight prepaid. Defective parts replaced by STERIS will become the property of STERIS. Repaired or replacement parts will be shipped to Customer F.O.B. point of shipment. CPO equipment that is returned to STERIS but that is found by STERIS to conform to STERIS's warranties will be returned to Customer at Customer's expense and will otherwise remain subject to the provisions hereof.

STERIS is not responsible for any warranty work, repairs, replacements, or other work or charges relating thereto, that have not been authorized by STERIS in writing.
